GA-1 DOGWOOD

  • Organized 12/7/1971 Chartered 2/7/1972.

  • Official name: The Dogwood Chapter of Atlanta Women Marines Association GA-1 ( GA-1 indicates it is the first chapter in Georgia)

  • History: The names of the first members and officers are unknown. We have reached out to former members, but they were unable to provide any information. What we do know is that Kathleen Eidson was an original member of the chapter.

  • GA-1 has been reorganizing since 2017, we have new members and leadership. The times have changed, but the Sisterhood remains!!

When you join the Women Marines Association (WMA) you become a part of an experience, a sisterhood of the most elite of women in the world. There is no rank in the WMA – we are all equal – but we each have individual gifts. These gifts may range from making calls to writing thank you notes, to being outstanding leaders and board members. Regardless of what your gift is, you are important to the whole and your gifts are needed. Please be willing to share them.

We are Women who have served and who are serving in the United States Marine Corps and the Fleet Marine Force (FMF). We are a component of the Women Marines Association (WMA)

Esprit de corps

To foster, encourage and perpetuate the spirit of our Women Marines.
