GA-1 was represented at our very own Ms Kathleen's 100th birthday party. It was an honor that the family allowed a few of us to attend.

GA-1 had a business meeting at the 57th Fighter Group Restaurant.

GA-1 once again volunteered at Sweetwater Mission. Lots of work was completed for the organization along with lots of photos taken!

GA-1 had a social lunch at the 57th Fighter Wing Group restaurant. Such great camaraderie just sitting back, talking about life, and eating a good meal in a nice military atmosphere, watching the planes come and go.

GA-1 kicked off the new year at the Senior Living Facility, home of our oldest, local member ~ 99 year-old Ms. Kathleen! Plans were tentatively made for the year. We would still enjoy feedback on activities and charitable work our members would like to participate in.

GA-1 participated in laying wreathes at Marietta National Cemetery with Wreathes Across America! So many wreathes laid on so many graves of those who have served our country.

GA-1 held their Christmas Holiday Party at Semper Fi Bar & Grille and participated in a white elephant gift exchange. An enthusiastic time was had by all!

GA-1 Volunteered at the Toys for Tots Warehouse. The President of the Atlanta-area Toys for Tots said she needs Marines every day as GA-1 knocked out the warehouse! To put it in perspective: There were 150 volunteers. 20 of them Marines. GA-1 and Officer Cadets. One side of the warehouse was GA-1, the other side the Cadets, the middle 100+ civilians. The sides of the warehouse were unbelievably in order and cleaned up. The middle was .... not quite in order and not near as much done. Be proud GA-1!! Oorah!!

GA1 took part in the DAV 5K Race! Lots of veterans, several Women Marines, friendly course!
Then GA1 celebrated our beloved Corps' birthday with much rabble-rousing at Semper Fi Bar & Grille. Five other Women Marines outside of GA1 were identified at this grand celebration including the proprietor! A grand time was had by all between the food, the cake, the ceremony, the camaraderie, the beer, & the silkies!

We talked about shirts and Ari showed us a mock-up photo book we may create.
Voted to have chapter meetings on the 1st Sat of the month.
Discussed final decisions for charity work and birthday celebration.

Meeting at Olive Garden in Duluth. Area 3 President, Patty Collins, joined us to congratulate and encourage our endeavors! She brought along a Marine sister from Augusta who is trying to start a chapter there. We hope we were encouraging!

Meeting at Yeah, Burger in Atlanta. We decided on Officers to get our chapter going and talked about a variety of projects for us to pursue. Committing to attend, participate, and recruit were deemed our important factors in getting started. A "build it and they will come" attitude! We are excited to get a chapter going in the Atlanta area again.
